i appreciated your perspective. i wish i could send this to a certain other blogger, but she wouldn't even open it seeing it was from me, HA!

"Others, however, have surprised me. Many close friends have barely got in touch, let alone asked how I am. Full of self-pity, I began to view these people as fair weather friends and to be angry that they weren’t around in my time of need."

this is the sentiment opposite of mine, although i have felt this way before and it's truly unpleasant, but it makes way for serious growth. in my recent situation, i was going through multiple life-shifts all at once with no room for 'the old' you know? i felt i had to leave my old patterns and even a few friends behind.. not FOREVER, but for a while during the changes. it was wordless, and i didn't keep up with them. the silence was mistaken for friend dumping (?) and in turn i was friend dumped. it's helpful when friends have the ability to not take things personally and try to understand the distance. it's helpful when they can accept the distance and feel thankful and happy when their friend DOES come around. it's like, enjoy what you have.. don't be selfish with other peoples time.
